20 Years after Xth Standard !

Time just flew....cannot believe that it's been 20 yrs since I completed STD X at Marian Junior College (Old name for Marian Sr. Secondary School, Kalathipady, Kottayam).
Excited about meeting my classmates and teachers at the 20th Anniversary Re-Union which is scheduled for tomorrow (26th Dec) at Kottayam, the land of 3 L's (Letters, Latex and Lakes).

Social media was the backbone for Organizing this event, thoughts about which were initiated about 2 yrs ago :-) Facebook page, which was created to link (and search) the batchmates (V-Marians 1979-92) helped us reach out to over 65 batchmates - over 25 have confirmed to attend the first such event organized by any batch from our Alma mater.

Looking forward to the D-day tomorrow.

I studied from 1986 to 1990 when Mrs Mary Vijayan was the principal.

Leadership, Culture, Tribes et al

Past 11 months has been a very enriching journey for me. Events which unfolded from Oct 2013 in my professional and personal life gave me a lot of #depth towards redefining #Leadership from a lot of view points. I can vouch that these 11 months has been the ones where I could uncover maximum lessons. Strangely enough this has also been the most tumultous / uncertain period in my professional life as well - which may seem like a paradox for someone who is not connected to what I do for a living. So why should you attend an offline #HR conference?

As some say, when life throws lemons at you, you end up learning to make and like lemonades! So just about a decade ago, in 2012, when serendipity offered me the opportunity to cover world's largest HR conference on my social media handles as an SHRM12 Blogger, I considered it as pure luck / coincidence. Later, a series of life events (I have blogged about some of them) made me to belive that we have the power, as humans, to design for serendipity .  Tough to believe? I shall explain...  So, after having attended about 4 HR conferences every year in the last decade, (Thats over 40 events!) I have seen that large congregations of committed humans with some 'common-interest' can create this amazing possibility for Win-Win results for the 'contributors' among the congregation / gathering.
